2027 CITY GENERAL ELECTION

The general election for members of the City Council is held annually on the 1st Saturday in May, as set as a Texas Uniform Election Date. Find additional election-related dates and information here. 

The May 1, 2027, General Election is set to be held at Taylor Lake Village City Hall, located at 500 Kirby. Filing for a place on the ballot is set by state statute and expected to run from January 13 to February 12, 2027, for the positions of Mayor and Councilmember Positions 2 and 4.

Candidate packets may be picked up at City Hall, 500 Kirby, Taylor Lake Village, TX 77586 or requested by email at  city_secretary@tlv-tx.us

Candidate applications may be filed in person, by mail or by email. An application submitted by mail or email is considered to be filed at the time of its receipt by the appropriate filing authority. Please be advised that an application must be notarized prior to filing by mail or email.

Taylor Lake Village is a Type A General Law City. Filers are required to be a minimum of 18 years of age, be a registered voter in the territory elected and reside in the state for one year prior to the filing deadline. To file for mayor, you must live in the city for one year prior to filing. To file for council position, you must live in the city for six months prior to filing deadline.
